After graduating from Bishop’s University with a double major in English Literature and Psychology and a brief stint as an English teacher in Jeju, South Korea, Ashlyn found herself excitedly learning about the world of wine. Her excitement and passion for the industry was married with a round of successful certifications, including top performances in both Canadian and international examinations. After working as an Assistant Sommelier at Toronto’s esteemed Canoe, Ashlyn put her career on pause to see the world, starting with Base Camp Everest in Nepal and working her way down to Sydney, Australia. In Sydney, she was reignited by the passion of the Australian wine community, and found herself working at one of the country’s best restaurants, Quay. While at Quay, Ashlyn took out the top score for the Court of Master Sommeliers Advanced exam and was promoted to Head Sommelier. She would have happily stayed at Quay forever, however, the birth of her twin daughters made her reevaluate the sustainability of restaurant hours.
Ashlyn’s career has taken an exciting and winding road, but has ultimately landed her in Melbourne, Australia where she now oversees sales in 4 states for Jackson Family Wines.
