Yuki Hirose, MS, is a Tokyo-born sommelier whose passion for wine led him from a bar in Japan to some of Australia’s most prestigious dining rooms. After more than a decade at Sydney’s acclaimed Rockpool, he joined Lucas Restaurants in Melbourne, where he now oversees the wine programs at Kisumé, Grill Americano, and Society, mentoring a team of 20 sommeliers.
In 2023, Yuki achieved one of the wine world's highest honours, becoming a Master Sommelier—joining a global group of fewer than 300. The path was far from easy: after six attempts, his success is a testament to relentless dedication, humility, and the power of community.
